Great Inland Way
The Great Inland way starts in Sydney and takes in much of central New South Wales before reaching the Queensland's outback and coral sea.
An hour south-west from Toowoomba you’ll find Millmerran, a town that does much to preserve its past and keep its pioneering history alive. Millmerran is a vibrant town centre situated on Queensland's Darling Downs. On the Gore Highway, about 82 kilometres South West of Toowoomba and 213km West of Brisbane, Millmerran is well-serviced with civic facilities and a thriving business community. For a local history lesson, take in the panoramic views from Commodore Peak Lookout where a series of murals depict the region's history and how the town developed. Take a walk, ride or drive around the town to explore Millmerran's pioneering history depicted through a series of life size murals. Relax and unwind on the banks of Back Creek, pack a picnic, enjoy the birdlife or throw a fishing line if you have time.
