The Stonehouse Retreat

The Stonehouse is a unique hand-built masterpiece of natural stone, raw timbers, recycled materials and polished concrete, sitting on the edge of the Ravensbourne Scenic Rim escarpment. It is surrounded by 175 acres of beautiful Australian Bush and neighbours, the Deongwar State Forest Reserve. Travel time from Brisbane is approximately 80 minutes via Esk. Originally built as a private, fully solar-powered eco-lodge, the house is open to the public for the first time and available for short-term rentals and getaways. By day the views stretch for hundreds of kilometres around the Scenic Rim and over many lakes, including Wivenhoe. By night the stars and moon spectacularly dominate! The house has three magnificent main bedrooms (two kings and one queen), a modern, well-equipped kitchen, a large comfortable rustic lounge including a fireplace and huge decks that set the scene for relaxation, conversation and memories which will stay with you forever. Sleeps nine if the optional fourth bedroom included. Chill out, bushwalk, go mountain biking, go fishing, cook up a feast, and it's a photographer's paradise. They're pet friendly. Glamping at its very best. It's very private and fantastic all year round.
