Emerald Pioneer Cottage Complex

The Emerald Pioneer Cottage Complex historical village is located in Emerald, QLD at Morton Park, behind the Visitor Information Centre, next to the world’s biggest replica Vincent van Gogh Sunflower painting. Managed by the Emerald & District Historical Association Inc, the complex features many historical experiences including a local history museum in a church built in 1884. Take a step back in time in the Dunning House and experience how life was back in the last 1800s/early 1900s. Experience how medical care was in the past in our hospital room and view the grim life inside the lead-lined goal cell. Enjoy the communications building, featuring communications devices throughout the ages, along with a newspaper printing press. A large collection of Royal Dolton pottery is also on display. Open seasonally for self-guided tours. Group tours, guided tours and school groups can be catered for with prior notice outside of business hours.
