Goondiwindi Tree of Knowledge
Artist: Jamie Sargeant The original levee was built in 1956 and has since ‘saved the town umpteenth times since then’ (Graeme Scheu, Mayor 2008-2020). The monument pays tribute to the bridge’s construction and wraps around the ‘Tree of Knowledge’, the traditional meeting place of the locals during times of flood.
